Made in Pakistan / Vol. 01
The clothes we grew up in, cut the way we live now. Made in Karachi. Worn wherever you're going.
Shop Vol. 01Our zardozi comes out of one room in Karachi. Ustad Rafiq runs the frame; his son does the plackets. He learned the stitch on wedding sherwanis, then we handed him a kurta with a zip and asked him to argue with us about it.
The World of SLAY
We didn’t start SLAY to explain our clothes to America. We started it because the best-cut garments we’d ever worn were being sold as costume, and the worst were being sold as luxury.
So we kept the bench in Karachi, moved the fit forward thirty years, and put our map on the label instead of a story that isn’t ours. If you know, you know. If you don’t — you’re about to.
